evolve FCU partnered with Academy Sports + Outdoors in west El Paso for their first annual, A Shoe Story, donation event! We gathered and wrapped 255 pairs of shoes to donate to our local children's organizations, including: Child Crisis Center of El Paso, Center Against Sexual & Family Violence, Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso, Lee Moor Children's Home, El Paso Children's Hospital and El Paso Children's Hospital Foundation. evolve FCU's marketing team made the donation deliveries throughout the week of Dec. 14 - Dec. 18 dressed as Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Santa's reindeer!
A Shoe Story originated when one of the local children's organizations mentioned to us that a child's expression on their face is priceless while opening a brand new box of shoes. They explained that a new pair of shoes gave each child a sense of empowerment and an opportunity to create their own unique story. With this event, evolve FCU and Academy Sports + Outdoors of west El Paso were able to create that experience for local kids in our community.
